Should Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers use Scott Allan as bait to sign John McGinn from their Scottish Premiership rivals?

It’s no secret that Celtic are trying to sign John McGinn this summer.
In fact, Hibernian assistant Garry Parker confirmed via The Record on Thursday that the Hoops – who are reported to have offered £1.5 million – did indeed table a bid for the 23-year-old midfielder.
Problem is, McGinn is worth around £5 million [The Record] to the Easter Road club, meaning that Celtic, if they really want him, will have to up their bid by quite a bit from here on in.
However, could manager Brendan Rodgers get his man without bowing to Neil Lennon’s financial demands?
Rodgers has a trump card in the form of Scott Allan, who impressed during a half-season loan under Lennon in Leith last season.
And the Celtic boss should float the idea of offering Allan and cash in exchange for the Scotland international.
Hibs might already be resigned to losing McGinn, hence their acquisition of Stevie Mallan on Friday, but a player-plus-cash deal seems like it could suit both parties.
