Ally McCoist made it clear on Sky Sports News (2:10pm, April 24, 2021) that not all former Rangers strikers have the view on Leeds United that ex-Ibrox star Kris Boyd does.

Earlier this month, former Rangers striker Boyd said on Sky Sports News that Leeds are being overhyped.

The former Gers star said that Marcelo Bielsa’s side should be doing better because of the amount of money they spent.

On Saturday, Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling has mocked Boyd ollowing Leeds’s 2-1 win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Boyd made the comments about Leeds just before the Whites took on City. The Whites played the entire second half with 10 men but still won.

Referring to Boyd’s comments on Soccer Saturday yesterday, Sky Sports presenter Stelling mocked him.

Former Rangers striker and manager McCoist, who also works as a pundit for Sky Sports, said that not all ex-Ibrox players think the way Boyd does about Leeds, with all the guests in the studio enjoying the banter.

Stelling said on Sky Sports News (2:10pm, April 24, 2021): “This week I just wish Kris Boyd was here. All you Leeds fans would wish he was here as well because remember what Kris Boyd said about Leeds United, was it ‘overrated’ or was it ‘underachieving’ or was it both?

“Did he say they spent too much money? Well to me those goals against Man City said that was £100million blooming well spent Boydy! I think every Leeds fan would tell you exactly the same. I tell you what, Stuart Dallas has made Kris Boyd choke on his words!”

McCoist quipped: “Jeff, you’ve got to let me in here, I can categorically tell you guys that is not the views of all ex-Rangers strikers on Sky Sports south of the border, I want to clear that up.”

Stelling added: “I think it’s the view of one football pundit in the UK to be absolutely honest.”

Leeds are having a great season, and perhaps they will prove Boyd wrong yet again on Sunday when they take on Manchester United at Elland Road in the Premier League.
