The young winger started for West Bromwich Albion against Manchester United.
There was a considerable amount of excitement amongst West Bromwich Albion supporters in the summer when the club secured a deal to bring in Oliver Burke from RB Leipzig.
So far, however, the talented young winger has been used sparingly as he has been slowly eased into Premier League action.
An impressive creative talent, Burke was given a starting berth by Alan Pardew in West Brom’s 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester United yesterday, and, while he is still rather raw, the 20-year-old showed some encouraging signs during his time on the pitch.
West Brom are certainly in need of pace in their side at present and Burke possesses that quality in abundance as he is frequently able to burst past opponents.
The youngster’s decision making needs to improve at times but the evidence suggests that he can certainly give West Brom a boost in their quest to avoid relegation.
Pardew is still attempting to find the right formula with his West Brom squad as he looks to keep them up and while Burke may not be ready to start every week he can certainly be a useful squad option, with his unpredictability causing problems for opposing defenders.
With a hectic schedule to come over the next few weeks, it is likely that Burke will receive further opportunities for West Brom and he will be determined to impress.
