The young midfielder is one of Aston Villa’s most exciting prospects.

The news that Callum O’Hare had agreed a new deal at Aston Villa was greeted with universal delight from the club’s fans, but the next thing for manager Steve Bruce to do is trust him on a regular basis.
That does not mean starting the 19-year-old week in, week out, but it does mean giving him more opportunities to shine in a Villa side set for a prolonged promotion push this season.

Such are Villa’s aspirations that playing O’Hare is always going to be a risk. However he has the innate talent to make his mark in the Championship this season and deserves more than the two brief cameos he has managed to date.
Aside from 30 minutes against Cardiff City on the opening weekend of the season, O’Hare has only managed another 11 minutes (against Wolverhampton Wanderers) yet his EFL Cup showings prove he is worth more of a gamble in the weeks ahead.

Securing the Villa youngster’s future was a big step in the right direction, proving just how highly he is rated at the club. Now it is time Bruce showed more faith in him and stopped holding him back.
Some teenagers are not prepared for regular first-team football, but O’Hare is ready to follow Keinan Davis into the fold and it will be interesting to see if he gets that chance sooner rather than later.
