Aston Villa could be transformed if their exciting deals get over the line, but can they handle the expectancy?

It took a while for Aston Villa to get going in the summer transfer window, but they might be about to finish it with a bang.
Andre Moreira was the first body through the door on July 26 after the Portuguese joined on loan from Atletico Madrid. Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has made three more signings since then – John McGinn, Orjan Nyland and Axel Tuanzebe – but the Villans are surely saving the best until last.
According to The Birmingham Mail, Bruce is close to sealing a double loan deal for Everton winger Yannick Bolasie and Ajax attacker Anwar El Ghazi. Not only that, but the Villans, according to ESPN, are also closing in on a move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
It could be a season-defining few days which proves the catalyst for a promotion-winning season…..if they can handle the pressure that’s about to be piled on them.
If all three deals happen, Aston Villa will suddenly become huge favourites to win automatic promotion but such expectancy can often come at a cost.
Pressure can do funny things to star-studded sides and it remains to be seen whether Villa, as a team, can cope, though some will say that Wolves clearly had no problem in meeting expectations after a brilliant – and expensive – transfer window last summer.
Plus, Vill have a vastly-experienced manager in Bruce, who surely wouldn’t be making the moves unless he felt that he could integrate them all into the side.
