The Sun have claimed that Villa are interested in signing Egypt’s highly-rated talent, as they are set to make an £8 million bid for the 24-year-old.
If the report is to be believed then the news must have filtered to Trezeguet, who is currently on international duty, where he is participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.
There is a certain Villa right-back in Elmohamady who is sharing the same dressing room as the Villa target and he could surely persuade the versatile attacker to join the club?
Dean Smith is in need of more attacking talent, and a player of Trezeguet’s qualities and promise would be a brilliant purchase for the newly-promoted side.
Not only that, given the inflated prices in English football, at this moment time, going abroad to search for top talent is perhaps the way forward because the players won’t cost as much.
Nonetheless, it is highly likely that Elmohamady will start Villa’s first game of the season when the new campaign kicks off, and surely the Steve Bruce signing could persuade his international teammate to potentially be in the same squad as him when the team take on Tottenham?
Given that there seemingly is interest, Villa would be wise to ask their player to have a word with the forward because it would help them land yet another transfer target.
Both Elmohamady and Trezeguet have helped Egypt to the knockout stages of the AFCON’s Cup, as they have both been on the scoresheet during the competition.
