Kevin Campbell has said on Highbury Squad that he would like Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to make use of Joe Willock against Leeds United.
The Gunners will take on Leeds away from home at Elland Road in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Former Arsenal striker Campbell has outlined how the 21-year-old midfielder is different from other players in that department.
The Englishman has urged Arteta to at least keep the England Under-21 international on the substitutes’ bench against Leeds.
Campbell said on Highbury Squad: “I would like to see Joe Willock involved in the squad, not necessarily start, but I think he brings something different to that midfield that none of the other midfielders really do. That’s running behind the strikers.”
Good suggestion
Willock has played thrice in the Europa League and twice in the League Cup for Arsenal so far this season, but the youngster has yet to appear in the Premier League, according to WhoScored.
It is hard to see Arteta include the youngster in the starting lineup against a dynamic and attack-minded Leeds team, but it would not be a bad idea to have him on the substitutes’ bench.
Willock has scored two goals and provided one assist in the Europa League this season, according to WhoScored, which shows that he can score and create chances.
