Everton have completed a move to sign Theo Walcott from Arsenal.
Former Everton captain Kevin Campbell has claimed on Twitter that the Toffees newest signing Theo Walcott is “still in his prime” despite a disappointing 2017-18 campaign so far.
Walcott, 28, put pen to paper on three-and-a-half-year contract at Goodison Park to become Everton’s second signing under Sam Allardyce for a fee of £20million from Arsenal.
The England international could be set to form one third of a deadly front three under Allardyce, combining with Yannick Bolasie and other January recruit Cenk Tosun, who cost £27million from Besiktas.
Campbell, who played for Everton for six years between 1999 and 2005 and also turned out for the Gunners, claimed Walcott still has the ability to “change games” in the blue of Everton.
The three-time FA Cup winner decided to jump ship after being afforded just 63 minutes of Premier League football this season, spread out across six substitute appearances under Arsene Wenger.
Instead, Walcott has been used more prominently in the Europa League, where he showed his true quality by scoring three goals and laying on five assists in just five outings.
He is expected to make his Everton debut on Saturday at Goodison Park, as the Toffees go up against West Bromwich Albion with Allardyce looking for a first win in seven matches.
