Kevin Campbell has told the Highbury Squad that Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac is actually ‘saving’ Arsenal money despite being on high wages.
The 28-year-old is one of a number of players that could head for the North London exit door this summer.
Kolasinac is yet to play for Arsenal in the Premier League this season, and with Nuno Tavares and Kieran Tierney ahead of him in the pecking order, the writing is on the wall.
The bulldozing fullback earns £100k-a-week at the Emirates (Spotrac) despite hardly being used by Mikel Arteta.
But Arsenal legend Campbell shared why he is still not a problem in the financial department for the club.
“Kolasinac comes in on a free contract,” said Campbell. “We didn’t pay for him, so we can’t start saying he is on high wages.
“He is only on high wages because there was no transfer fee. That’s why he is getting paid so well.
“The football club doesn’t have to stomp up £20 million for him and then a wage package, so it’s actually saving the club money. Believe it or not.”

Arsenal have a number of players who are sitting there on big money and taking up valuable wages.
It’s not helpful for the club because they are in a situation where they need to get rid of players before they can bring in fresh faces.
And the longer those players are at the club, the more frustrated an already angry Arsenal crowd get because two losses from two games says it all.
If this looks like a right mess for Arsenal, well it’s only going to get worse because it’s only the Premier League champions awaiting them next week.
