Rangers had a day to forget yesterday. Mark Warburton’s men were put to the sword by local rivals Celtic in the Old Firm derby, losing 5-1.

What they did not need to compound a miserable day was to see their former keeper Cammy Bell breaking records with his new team.

Bell made not one, not two but three penalty saves in action for Dundee United yesterday.

He made all the saves in the first half, becoming the first person to do so.

Rangers fans will be forgiven for wondering if that is the same Cammy Bell that used to play for the club.

His time at Ibrox was less than successful. He joined Rangers in 2013 as an exciting talent from Kilmarnock but never showed that promise during his time as a Ger.

He is perhaps best known for a no infamous mistake against Motherwell in the promotion play-off back in 2015.

Warburton was clearly not impressed and replaced him with Wes Foderingham, Bell not featuring for the Glasgow club once last season and leaving on a free this summer,

So seeing that he had saved three penalties certainly had Rangers fans scratching their heads on Twitter.
