The goalkeeper just won the Challenge Cup with Dundee United at Fir Park.
Rangers’ Cammy Bell walks off at half time
Former Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell has been discussing how he has been getting redemption for some of errors when in Glasgow.
His time at Ibrox was less than successful. He joined Rangers in 2013 as an exciting talent from Kilmarnock but never showed that promise during his time as a Ger.
He is perhaps best known for a now infamous mistake against Motherwell in the promotion play-off back in 2015.
Warburton was clearly not impressed and replaced him with Wes Foderingham, Bell not featuring for the Glasgow club once last season and leaving on a free in the summer,
Since then he has become the number one at Dundee United. Earlier in the season, on the same day Rangers were being thumped 5-1 by Old Firm rivals Celtic, Bell was saving three penalties in one match. His form has even helped Dundee United win the Challenge Cup, at Fir Park, the scene of his Rangers error.
Speaking to the Daily Record he admitted it felt like some form of retribution:
“The lowest point in my career was actually my last game at Fir Park in the play-off final against Motherwell. It was such a difficult day for me.
“I’m a senior player and I take the responsibility on my shoulders. I know that day I made a massive mistake and I got a lot of criticism for it.
“It was up to me to try to move on from that and learn from it too and I have done. I think it has made me a stronger character as well. The move to Dundee United has been brilliant for me.
“The manager has been fantastic with me and he has even made me captain. I feel like I owe the gaffer a lot and this one was my way of saying thanks to him.”
Bell was never universally popular at Rangers and that stemmed mainly from his poor form at the club.
Rangers fans will not however begrudge him his new found success.
