Cameron Young has brought his strong PGA Tour form into the Bahamas, putting together two impressive rounds at the Hero World Challenge.
Young was a key performer for Team USA at the Ryder Cup, following a breakout year that included his first PGA Tour win and consistent play down the stretch.
“It’s been a huge year for me,” Young said. “A lot changed for me in 2025 and I learned a lot of things that I’m looking to put to use.”
The 28-year-old is now aiming to build on that momentum in 2026 by contending for major titles.
But this week, his attention remains on the Hero World Challenge, where he sits atop the leaderboard at ten under par, tied with four others heading into the weekend.
Looking back on 2025, Young felt it was really split into two parts for him. He admitted he struggled early on but said things came together as the year went along.

How Cameron Young views his 2025 PGA Tour Campaign
With Young among several players in the mix, he’ll feel this is a strong chance to add another title to his lone PGA Tour win.
He finished inside the top ten eight times in 2025 and could have easily picked up more wins before heading to the Bahamas.
Speaking about his season, Young said it was split into two very different stretches. “Yeah it was a story of two years. But the second half looked a lot more like what I’d like my career in general to look like,” Young admitted.
“So it’s been good to fight out of that place I was in the earlier part of the year and then see some success later in the year.”
When asked if he sees this week as a chance to build momentum for next season, Young said he’s approaching the event more as an opportunity for growth than just results.
“Yeah, it certainly can. I’m kind of not using the week as practice, but I’m using the week to try to build on some things that we’ve been doing and less so looking at the results just because I haven’t played any competition in the last couple months,” Young added.
“So it’s more just an opportunity to keep building on what we were doing mentally. I don’t think the result is necessarily going to dictate the outcome, I think it’s going to be more kind of how we go through our process and how we attack the golf course.”
Young’s momentum building ahead of the 2026 Majors
While Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy remain favourites in any major field, there’s a growing sense that Cameron Young is closing the gap.
He might not be at their level just yet, but there are reasons to believe he’s getting closer. His combination of length off the tee and improved putting stands out, and his confidence is clear to see.
This year, he has shown more consistency than in previous seasons. Young no longer feels like an outsider – he belongs in this company now.
If he can maintain this form into 2026, there’s no reason why a major title should be out of reach.
