Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has been linked with Aston Villa.
Carter-Vickers, who spent last season on loan first at Sheffield United and then at Ipswich Town, has been linked with a move to Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
The Telegraph claimed in June that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was looking to offer Josh Onomah and Carter-Vickers on loan to Championship club Villa to sign Jack Grealish.
The 20-year-old told The London Evening Standard: “Every footballer wants to play. The manager let me go out on loan and it was perfect for me. I managed to get a lot of game time. I’ve come back and I feel like an improved player.”
Carter-Vickers added: “At the moment I’m at Tottenham so I’m just working hard every day in training, trying to impress the manager and trying to get into the Spurs team.
“These pre-season games are important. When you play against good opposition it’s only going to help you improve.”

Carter-Vickers is a very good and talented young defender, and the 20-year-old did well during his loan spells in the Championship last season.
While it is going to be hard for the 20-year-old defender to establish himself in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s first team next season, it would make sense for him to stay at the club and work with the Argentine boss.
Joining Villa on loan would not be a bad idea , although having already played a season in the Championship, perhaps it is time for the USA international – who earns £20,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – to experience life in the Premier League.
