Tottenham defender is not on pre-season tour.

Cameron Carter-Vickers #5 of the United States in action against the Peru at Rentschler Field on October 16, 2018 in East Hartford, Connecticut.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers was not included on the team’s pre-season tour.

Football London report this is because the centre-back is injured and undergoing rehab.

Pre-season was Carter-Vickers’ last chance to salvage his Spurs career, with Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez missing the tour due to their Copa America exploits.

Carter-Vickers’ attention must now turn to the next step in his career.

Whether this be yet another loan, or a permanent switch away, he is on a deadline to make this happen.

His injury is cruelly timed, although the nature of it is unclear. It’s possible he can get fit before the transfer deadline.

Carter-Vickers is in a race against time to both prove his fitness and negotiate a move away.

He has had impressive loan spells at Sheffield United, Ipswich and Swansea City. He shouldn’t have trouble finding another Championship club.

If he can’t make the August 8 deadline, he could have to look abroad.

Cameron Carter-Vickers #38 of Tottenham Hotspur scores over the A.S. Roma defense during an International Champions Cup match at SDCCU Stadium on July 25, 2018 in San Diego, California.
