The former midfielder spent nearly three years at Elland Road.
The third-round draw for the FA Cup took place yesterday evening with Premier League and Championship sides now entering the draw.
Leeds United now know that they will face League Two side Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium in the New Year.
In doing so they will go up against a former Leeds player. Shaun Derry is currently the head coach at Cambridge. The 38-year-old spent nearly three years at Elland Road after joining from Crystal Palace in 2005.

The defensive midfielder was a regular for Leeds when fit and has fond memories of his time at the club.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds after the draw was made he revealed his pleasure at getting to face off against Leeds in the competition:
Cambridge United manager Shaun Derry celebrates at the end of the match
“It’s the perfect draw. For me in particular, I was always going to love one of my old teams so to get Leeds United in the third round it’s going to be great for us as a family. It’s going to be fantastic.
“(I have) only good memories of being up there. It was a great three years nearly. Kids were born up there, got married up in Yorkshire.
“It was curtailed a little bit with injury but I have only got fond memories of Elland Road and Leeds United.”

Of course Derry will know his side have a battle on their hands trying to get a good result against his former club.
Leeds are currently fourth in the Championship and have already been on a good cup run this term, making the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
But the ex-Leeds man will no doubt hope his League Two side can spring a surprise.
