Back in January, Axel Tuanzebe left Aston Villa after his season-long loan move from Manchester United was cut short.
According to the defender’s agent, Dimitri Tuanzebe, the decision came after Steven Gerrard informed the centre-back he wouldn’t play much (ESPN).
The 24-year-old then joined Napoli, where things haven’t gone too well.
What’s the story?
Well, Tuanzebe hasn’t exactly set the world alight in Naples.
The Bunia-born defender has only made two appearances for Napoli, and has been left on the bench on three occasions.
In fairness, Tuanzebe has struggled with Lumbago since moving to Serie A.
However, when he has made it out onto the pitch, he has looked out of his depth, proving Gerrard was right to inform him he wouldn’t play much at Villa Park.

Admittedly, it was a harsh thing to tell Tuanzebe, who was something of a fan favourite at Villa Park following his heroics in the Championship.
Aston Villa did well to replace Axel Tuanzebe
In our view, the Villans did very well to offload Tuanzebe and replace him with Calum Chambers on a free transfer.
The England international has impressed at Villa Park despite making just six appearances for the Villans.

Chambers dazzled supporters with an incredible outside-of-the-boot pass during the 4-0 win over Southampton, which led to Douglas Luiz scoring.
The ex-Southampton man again showcased his impressive technical ability with a phenomenal, curled effort in the 3-0 win over Leeds.
To swap Tuanzebe on loan for Chambers on a permanent deal was fantastic business from Aston Villa, to say the least.
