Sunderland have appointed Simon Grayson as their new manager.

Preston North End forward Callum Robinson has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Simon Grayson’s move to Sunderland.

Grayson has left Preston to take charge of Championship rivals Sunderland, who got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

As announced on the Black Cats’s official website, the 47-year-old former Leeds United manager has put pen to paper on a three-year contract at the Stadium of Light.

Preston forward Robinson, who is 22 years of age, has taken to Twitter to send an emotional farewell message to Grayson.

Sunderland are a massive club, and the Stadium of Light faithful should be optimistic about the season ahead with Grayson in charge.

The former Blackpool manager has a strong record in the Championship, and if he is backed in the summer transfer window, then the Black Cats could end up in the playoffs next season.

Preston finished 11th in the Championship table during the 2016-17 season.
