Deployed in a number 10 role, Grealish offered a reminder of his undoubted potential with a classy performance in a more advanced midfield position.
And the 20-year-old was sent a message of congratulations by Preston North End forward Callum Robinson, who came through the ranks at Aston Villa with Grealish.
The trick for Grealish is becoming as influential for the Villans on a regular basis as he was for his country yesterday.
He has netted twice in eight Championship starts, which is a decent return, but he has gone missing in a number of games too and consistency is key.
