Glasgow Rangers winger Eros Grezda seemed to impress the Premier League ace as he continues to catch the eye at Ibrox.

Paterson’s versatility has meant that he has been used all over the pitch, including as a striker, in the Premier League this season, but Alex McLeish deployed him at right-back in their latest Nations League contest.
That meant his task was trying to contain Grezda. And while Scotland stormed to an emphatic 4-0 win that leaves them level on points with group leaders Israel, Paterson conceded that he struggled at times against the 23-year-old.
“It’s been a long time since I played right- back. It’s not my favourite position, it’s one of my least favourite places to play,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun. “Grezda was a handful, but you have to look after yourself, and I didn’t really do that in the first 15-20 minutes.

“There was a bit of rustiness but I felt as though I got into the game as it wore on. I’m happy to do a job for the team wherever I’m asked.”
While Paterson cannot be considered a natural out-and-out full-back, Grezda can certainly take some encouragement from his performance given that that is the position where the 24-year-old has featured most throughout his career.

The Gers’ £2 million summer signing – fee reported by BBC Sport – looked dangerous at times, and that will give Steven Gerrard plenty of encouragement ahead of the return of the domestic season this weekend.
Grezda is starting to find his feet with Rangers after scoring twice in his most recent appearance. And causing a Premier League full-back some issues will definitely provide his confidence with a further lift.
