The 20-year-old, who hails from the same town as Jack Grealish and Andre Green, is impressing on loan at Carlisle.

Ask any Aston Villa fan to name a player who hails from Solihull and is currently impressing at the club, and the vast majority, unsurprisingly, will say Jack Grealish.

Andre Green is another Silhillian who is being given his chance by Dean Smith, being recalled from his Portsmouth loan and given a decent amount of game time in recent months, as Transfermarkt shows.

Next season there could well be three players who hail from Solihull in the Villa squad – or maybe even the starting XI outright – as Callum O’Hare is currently making waves on loan at League Two high flyers Carlisle United.

The attacking midfielder, who like Grealish and Green hails from Solihull, put in another impressive display for Steven Pressley’s side on Saturday as the Cumbrians from behind to beat Bury 3-2, the Villa academy ace’s smart finish drawing his side level.

O’Hare joined Carlisle on loan late in January and has so far made 12 appearances, but in his last few games he has especially impressed, with two assists and a goal in his last three appearances (BBC Sport).

At just 20, the 5ft 7in ace is showing talent and skill beyond his years and, given this is his first loan spell, as well as his first extended stint in a club’s first team, it all bodes well for his Villa future.

Indeed, with Carlisle just one point off the playoffs, there is a possibility that O’Hare could return to B6 with a promotion under his belt, which would certainly give Smith food for thought in terms of player selection.
