Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor only signed a new deal with Brendan Rodgers’ side last year.

McGregor only put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Celtic last year, but he has just signed on improved terms, which will keep him with the Bhoys until 2023.
And even McGregor was shocked that Celtic moved to hand him another new deal so soon after his last.
He said: “I only signed my last contract in September last year, so it’s been quick to get a new one. It’s a bit of surprise. I’ve just been concentrating on playing football and trying to do my best for the team.”
McGregor’s new contract at Celtic is reward for his good form, which has significantly increased his reputation.

The Scottish midfielder has filled in for Scott Brown in recent weeks and showed his versatility in a new role.
McGregor has been linked with a move to the Premier League, but his new contract ends any speculation over his future.
McGregor is likely to be in action again for Celtic at the weekend, when Rodgers’ side take on Dundee.
