Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Moussa Dembele has been inspirational for the team this season.

Dembele joined Scottish Premiership giants Celtic in the summer transfer window after leaving English club Fulham at the end of the 2015-16 season.

The 20-year-old forward has been in stunning form for the Bhoys so far this campaign. The France Under-21 international has been banging in the goals for fun in the Scottish Premiership.

McGregor, who is 23 years of age, has praised Dembele, and has said that the youngster has been an inspirational.

“He is powerful, he is fast, he is comfortable with both feet and he seems to be the calmest player on the park at times,” McGregor told The Glasgow Evening Times. “He has been inspirational for us this season.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 34 points from 12 matches.

Brendan Rodgers’s side are 10 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and have a game in hand.

The Bhoys will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Spanish giants Barcelona at Celtic Park in Champions League Group C.

Celtic are at the bottom of the group with just two points from four matches and may not even drop to the Europa League.
