The 23-year-old impressed for Celtic on the weekend.
Speaking to Herald Scotland, Callum McGregor has thanked Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers for the faith he showed in him at the weekend.
Celtic thrashed Inverness 3-0 at Parkhead on Saturday for what was an 11th Premiership win in 12 games – the other being a 2-2 draw at Caley Thistle earlier in the season.
Scott Sinclair opened the scoring on 48 minutes in a goal which stemmed from McGregor’s superb chipped pass to set the Englishman away.

The 23-year-old played the full 90 minutes on the weekend and there was a sense of redemption about his excellent performance.
Three days previous, McGregor missed a sitter in the 1-1 draw with 10-man Borussia Monchengladbach and later courted criticism from Celtic fans on social media.
It would have been easy to drop him, but Rodgers kept faith with the Scot – who also refused a post-match interview in Germany – and McGregor has told Herald Scotland that he is grateful to the Northern Irishman.

He said: “It was a good confidence boost that he backed me to start the Inverness game. I am thankful for that and I hope I repaid him with a good performance.
“Sometimes a miss can mean you can be left out. But as I say the manager has backed me, I got a start at the weekend and put in a good performance. So Tuesday goes to the back of your mind and as a player it’s important to focus on the positives.
“You are going to have ups and downs, so it’s important to stay mentally strong because if you crumble you have no chance.”
McGregor has only made 10 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops this season, five of which were from the start.
