Celtic’s Callum McGregor celebrates scoring
Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has lauded Brendan Rodgers approach to management and claimed it is helping to develop the squad, in an interview with the club’s official website.
The Hoops boss opted for a 3-5-2 formation in the second leg against Lincoln Red Imps and he has already made it clear that versatility is required from his players.
“The manager has spoken about the different systems he might use and it’s great for us that we are always learning tactical discipline,” said McGregor.

“It’s great to have new ideas and to build tactically as well as physically and technically.
“You are always looking to develop and test yourself, and to have a manager like this to come in and try new systems and demand more of you as a player can only be good for us as we can develop as players and people and learn things about the game,” he added.
The 23-year old has started the last two games under Rodgers and appears to be firmly in his manager’s plans after several energetic and impressive performances in midfield.

McGregor will hope to make it three starts from three when Celtic face FK Astana in their Champions League Third Round qualifier later today.
Rodgers has an abundance of options to choose from in midfield but it is the defence which will be giving him cause for concern.
Celtic’s Efe Ambrose
Erik Sviatchenko and Kristoffer Ajer have now joined Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata on the treatment table, while Kolo Toure is not yet match fit.
The Celtic boss now has to decide between natural right-back Mikael Lustig, inexperienced youngster Eoghan O’Connell and error-prone Efe Ambrose as his centre-back options for today’s crucial clash in Kazakhstan.
