Rangers winger Glenn Middleton has faded from prominence in recent times, but is now earning praise again.
Graeme Murty lured Middleton to Ibrox in January 2018 having worked together at Norwich City, and his first season under Steven Gerrard went well.
With five goals and five assists in 29 games across all competitions, Middleton made a big impact – but it’s been tricky since then.
Middleton has played just once for Rangers since the end of Gerrard’s first season at the club, with loan spells at Hibernian and Bradford City failing to help.
Now out on loan at St Johnstone, Middleton is looking to get back on track, and he has scored once in seven appearances..
The 21-year-old still has plenty of time to turn his situation around, and he has now been praised by boss Callum Davidson.
Davidson has told The Scottish Sun that he is pleased with how hard Middleton is working, and now wants talks with Rangers over another deal for next season.

Davidson does though fear that Middleton may end up playing too well for Rangers to let him go, but thinks the winger needs regular playing time instead of being sat in the shadows at Ibrox.
“Glenn has had to be patient but he’s come off the bench against Ross County and scored the goal that got us into the top six. That’s some achievement,” said Davidson. “He’s worked really hard from the day he arrived and the more I get him involved, the better he’ll be.”
“If he does unbelievably well for me in the next five or six games I probably won’t get the chance to keep him! He’s great about the place, he wants to learn and has a really positive attitude. So we’ll be looking to have a conversation with Rangers about next season. I think Glenn is at the stage in his career where he now needs sustained game time,” he added.
