Leeds United’s Caleb Ekuban enjoyed a fine Saturday evening.

Leeds United have a few players out on international duty this weekend, as well as some of their loaned out players.

One such player was Caleb Ekuban, as the Italian-born striker was called up by Ghana for the first time this month, off the back of his form on loan at Trabzonspor in Turkey.

Ekuban, 24, flopped at Leeds last season, scoring just twice in 21 games following a surprise move from Chievo, and Marcelo Bielsa decided he wasn’t in the plans this season, loaning him out to Trabzonspor instead.

Ekuban has impressed in Turkey, bagging seven goals and three assists in 28 appearances for Trabzonspor to earn an international call-up.

Ghana took on Kenya on Saturday evening, and were being frustrated in Accra, with the score at 0-0 before Ekuban was introduced as a substitute.

Ekuban then went on to score the winner for Ghana, capping off a dream international debut for the Black Stars, and he’s surely in line for more international football off the back of that goal.

Still, any football under Bielsa at Leeds looks unlikely despite these exploits for Ghana, and the Whites will surely sell him on to Trabzonspor permanently this summer.
