According to The Scottish Sun, new Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha will meet Ibrox chairman Dave King next week to discuss the club’s plans and their summer transfer budget.

The Gers confirmed that they had finally appointed Caixinha as their new manager on Saturday afternoon, landing him from Qatari side Al-Gharafa after a lengthy chase for his services.

Caixinha, 46, was in the stands for Rangers’ 1-1 draw at Celtic on Sunday afternoon, and on Monday he was presented to the media as the latest Gers boss following Mark Warburton’s departure.

The Portuguese boss will now be preparing to take charge of this weekend’s clash with Hamilton Academical, and he will no doubt use the final weeks of the season to analyse his squad.

Caixinha’s knowledge of players in Portugal, Mexico and Qatar may come in handy when targeting new signings, but the topic of Rangers’ transfer budget has been a hot one given how Warburton was limited in the transfer market.

Now, The Scottish Sun report that Caixinha will finally meet Rangers chairman Dave King for the first time next week, with the Ibrox chief heading to Scotland for talks with the new Gers manager.

It’s stated that King will meet with Caixinha to not only discuss Rangers’ plans moving forward, but also to inform him of the club’s summer transfer budget, with the club adamant that the new boss will have money to spend.

Rangers need to cut the gap to Celtic, and Caixinha will need quality signings to do that, but those players cost money – and King must invest heavily to back his new manager.
