Rangers take on Progres Niederkorn in the Europa League on Tuesday.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has been quoted by the club’s official Twitter account as saying that one of Carlos Pena or Eduardo Herrera will start against Progres Niederkorn on Tuesday night.

The Gers won the first leg of their Europa League qualifying tie against the Luxembourg-based outfit, with Kenny Miller scoring the opening goal in the 1-0 victory at Ibrox on Thursday.

Now, Rangers travel to Luxembourg in order to try and finish off the job and seal a victory, whilst presenting manager Caixinha with another chance to see his new signings in action ahead of the new league season.

Three new faces started last week’s clash, with Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack and Dalcio all featuring from the off, whilst two more additions – Daniel Candeias and Alfredo Morelos – came off the bench.

Mexican internationals Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera both missed out, but ahead of Tuesday’s clash, Caixinha has been quoted by the club’s official Twitter account as saying that one of them could feature.

Caixinha noted that both men are in the squad which has travelled to Luxembourg, but only one of them will be in the 18-man squad available to feature in the game.

Another player who missed out last week was defender Bruno Alves, given that he has been in Russia on international duty with Portugal at the Confederations Cup.

Caixinha added that Alves isn’t ready to play just yet, with the veteran defender still needing time to rest following his busy summer before he can make his bow in a Rangers shirt.
