Italian side Cagliari have released a statement on their official website confirming that defender Bruno Alves is leaving the club, ahead of an expected move to Rangers.
Cagliari won promotion back to Serie A in 2016, and decided to bring in centre back Alves to give them experience and leadership in the heart of their defence as they look to re-establish themselves in the top flight.

The 35-year-old played 36 Serie A games this past season, and with Alves marshalling the back line, Cagliari comfortably achieved Serie A survival – but the Portugal international has played his final game for the club.
The Daily Record reported earlier today that Alves is set to sign for Rangers in a £500,000 deal, having arrived in Glasgow to finalise talks and complete a medical with the club.
