According to GiveMeSport, Graham Potter’s Chelsea are about to make a second bid for Moises Caicedo, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool also want to sign from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Chelsea to make second bid for Arsenal and Liverpool target Moises Caicedo
GiveMeSport have reported that Chelsea made an offer of £55 million to Premier League rivals Brighton for Caicedo last week.
It was turned down.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners will now make a new and improved offer for the 21-year-old Ecuador international midfielder.
Well-known and well-connected journalist Simon Phillips has reported in GiveMeSport that “a new offer is expected to go in by Wednesday this week”.
And this will come as a blow for Liverpool and Arsenal, who have also been linked with the youngster.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in Caicedo and are well informed about his situation.
However, it seems that it is Chelsea who have made a bid for the youngster and will make another one this week.
That Brighton turned down an offer of £55 million for the youngster shows how highly they value him.
It will be interesting to see how much the second bid of Chelsea will be for.
We think that it would be ridiculous of Chelsea to offer £70 million or £80 million for a 21-year-old midfielder who is not world class yet.
Even £55 million for Caicedo is too much.
