Paul Gilmour has stated that there were ‘a couple of groans’ towards Davinson Sanchez from Tottenham fans during their 3-0 win against Norwich on Sunday, as he told Sky Sports News (05/12/21 at 3:25 pm).
The Sky reporter shared that, before Sanchez scored Tottenham’s second goal, he was ‘hit and miss’ during the game, hence the crowds’ reaction.
But, in the end, the Spurs centre-back would have been pleased to get on the scoresheet and help his side secure a clean sheet in another vital three points for Antonio Conte.
Ever since the Italian has walked through the doors at Hotspur Way, he is unbeaten in the Premier League and is on the tip of those Champions League places.
Nonetheless, this is what Gilmour had to say about Sanchez yesterday when reporting on the Tottenham match.
“As the corner has come in, it has bounced about a bit in the area,” said Gilmour. “And it’s fizzed in, it’s in actual fact an emphatic finish by Davinson Sanchez from close range.
“By the way, Davinson Sanchez has been a bit hit and miss today. There were a couple of groans in the crowd with a couple of mistakes he made.
“But that was an emphatic finish and a confident finish.”

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with Sanchez under Conte because he hasn’t really been able to showcase why Spurs made such big-money for him a number of years ago.
There has been a lack of consistency to his game and all of that under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Ryan Mason and Nuno Espirito Santo.
Like a number of Spurs players, it seems as though if this continues under Conte then he won’t be at the club for too long.
But, at this moment in time, he is showcasing strong signs, and if that continues, then it’s one less headache for Conte to try and deal with.
