Tottenham are reported to be close to signing Cengiz Under.
Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Turkish sensation Cengiz Under, according to reports.
Turkish outlet Ajansspor claim Spurs have agreed a £7.8 million fee for the winger, although his club president at Istanbul Basaksehir has played down a deal.
Under is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Turkish football, already a regular starter in his country’s second ranked side.

While very much unheard of to the casual English football fan, the Premier League’s top clubs are taking serious notice.
Manchester United are keen admirers of Under, with BeIN Sports Turkey reporting earlier this month that the Red Devils sent scouts to watch him in action.
Under has scored nine goals and provided six assists this season, and at just 19 is a player to get excited about.

He has already been capped and scored for Turkey, and Tottenham could be grabbing a bargain if they do indeed secure his signature.
Tottenham can’t compete with Manchester United in the transfer battle for the likes of Antoine Griezmann, but if they do get a deal for Under over the line it will demonstrate they have the pulling power to beat the Red Devils to transfer deals.
There is already friction between the two clubs due to United’s interest in Eric Dier, and Tottenham were superior in the Premier League last season, finishing 17 points ahead of Jose Mourinho’s side.
Given Mourinho’s track record of usurping Tottenham’s transfer targets as he did with William famously in 2013 when at Chelsea, Spurs may be extra determined to complete their move for Cengiz Under.
