Writing in his pre-match discussion session ahead of Leeds’ game against Manchester City, Phil Hay has delivered an update on how Adam Forshaw is getting on since returning to Leeds United training.

The midfielder hasn’t played in almost two years due to a recurring injury problem, but it seems as though he’s finally getting back to fitness.

Indeed, the former Middlesbrough man was filmed back in training a few weeks ago, and now Hay has shared how he’s getting on.

“In terms of Forshaw, it sounds like he’s actually making really strong progress now. But that’s another discussion altogether,” Hay wrote after one fan asked about Forshaw.

Understandably, Forshaw was a hot topic, and Hay answered another question about him later in the session.

“Forshaw has another year on his contract – he’s tied to 2022. He seems to be doing well, though, so hopefully this is it for him. By all accounts he’s trained well since returning,” Hay wrote.

This is great to hear.

Forshaw has had a hard time over the past 18 months, and we can only hope that he’s back on the pitch sooner rather than later.

Whether or not he gets a game before the end of the season remains to be seen, but it seems as though he’ll have a full pre-season to prepare for the 2021/22 campaign.

Fingers crossed Forshaw’s injury woes are behind him.
