Arsenal fans on Twitter cannot believe their eyes as Barcelona eye a potential shock move for their out-of-favour defender Shkodran Mustafi.
Catalan newspaper SPORT have claimed that Barcelona are keen to bring Mustafi from Arsenal to the Nou Camp in 2021.
It is said that the struggling Spanish giants want to sign an experienced centre-back for little money from when the transfer window re-opens in January until the end of this current campaign.
Arsenal fans are pretty keen for the player to leave given the number of centre-backs they have stock-piled in North London and his recent performances.
There are a number of players who need to be moved on by Arsenal and their fans even suggested that Barca should take a couple more of them as well to help them along the way.
It has been an indifferent start to the season for Mikel Arteta and it doesn’t help that he has so many experienced players in his squad who are hardly playing and eating away at the wage bill.
Whilst Mesut Ozil is the obvious name that springs to mind, Mustafi is another one and it has to be questioned why the defender wasn’t moved on in the summer if Arteta doesn’t see him part of his first-team plans.
Either way, those in North London are hoping Mustafi is sold when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.
