Tottenham Hotspur fans want their club to sign Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa after his performance on Sunday.
Even though Villa fell to a 2-0 defeat, Spurs supporters liked what they saw from the 23-year-old defender.
Tottenham may have kept Villa at bay last night, but they have endured many defensive problems throughout this campaign, hence Jose Mourinho’s decision to make several changes for their Villa Park trip.
And it seems a selection of supporters in North London think their answer lies in the man they came up against yesterday.
Konsa has proven to be one of the best centre-back’s in the Premier League this season and one of the best one v one defenders.
His performances haven’t got unnoticed and it has resulted in the Athletic reporting that Spurs are keen to secure his signature this summer, but they face competition from Liverpool.
Signed by Villa during their promotion summer for £12 million (BBC Sport), Konsa is now turning out to be a snip for those in the West Midlands boardroom.
If Villa have to part ways with him, and given that they want to get back into Europe for the long-term, it’s going to take some serious dough for Daniel Levy to land his signature.
And if he uses the same tactics he used on Jack Grealish all those years ago then Konsa won’t be going anywhere.
But that hasn’t stopped Tottenham fans from admiring his performance last night:
