Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has stated that Liverpool’s Mo Salah is a ‘brilliant’ player, as he told his press conference.
The left-back was interestingly asked whether the Liverpool forward is the best in the world with the award season coming up, but he did point towards his own ‘world-class’ Chelsea teammates, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.
It has been a year to remember for Jorginho because, after winning the Champions League in Chelsea colours last season, he then helped Italy win Euro 2020 in the summer.
But Salah’s recent form has sparked the question of, is there anyone in the world better than the Egypt star right now?
Form wise, not many can stand up to the ex-Chelsea man, but over the course of the calendar year, someone like Jorginho will feel that his work in midfield, and trophies to boot, deserves recognition.
Perhaps Salah will be more in with a shout next year, but one thing is for sure, he is putting his name up in bright light in order to try and land a big award of some kind for 2021.
Either way, this is what Chilwell had to say when asked about Salah and the form he has been in this season.
“Mo Salah is a brilliant player,” said Chilwell. “He’s having a brilliant season.
“This past month, he’s scored some great goals. But there are some brilliant players in our team as well.
“The likes of Jorginho who have gone on and won pretty much everything there is to win in the past year or year and a half. And N’Golo (Kante).
“There are a lot of world-class players in our team. But Mo Salah has been brilliant this year.”

Liverpool’s form last season and struggles without their key players did dampen the performances from Salah.
He narrowly missed out on the Golden Boot, which is some going for a player that played in a team without any balance, six home defeats on the bounce and worries that they wouldn’t even finish in the top four.
It perhaps shouldn’t happen, but sometimes players need to have trophies to their names in order for them to be appreciated a lot more.
Salah has won the big ones for Liverpool and they are showing signs that it can be done again this season.
