Bury manager David Flitcroft has revealed to the club’s official website what Rangers manager Mark Warburton told him about Nicky Clark.
Clark joined Bury on a free transfer last month after leaving Scottish Premiership-bound Rangers at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The striker signed a two-year contract with the Shakers, as announced on their official website.
Bury reportedly had to beat off competition from two other clubs to the signature of Clark. According to The Daily Mail, Southend United and Peterborough United were interested in securing the services of the former Rangers striker in the summer transfer window.
Bury manager Flitcroft has revealed how Rangers boss Warburton convinced him to sign the 25-year-old Clark.

“Mark kept telling me about Nicky, his work rate and his work ethic,” Flitcroft told Bury’s official website.
“Even though he wasn’t in and around the team, he still had that work ethic and that mentality to want to work. We had clips of him sent to us and you can just see that the kid loves scoring goals.”

Clark is a good player and could prove to be a very good signing for Bury, who finished 14th in the League One table during the 2015-16 season.
The striker did not score too many goals at Rangers – just 23 in 102 appearances – but Warburton seems to consider him quite a good and hard-working player.
Rangers won the Scottish Championship title with ease last season and will feature in the Scottish Premiership during the 2016-17 campaign.
