The Brewers were beaten 2-0 by Garry Monk’s Leeds United side.
Burton Albion goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin has admitted that while the result against Leeds United on Saturday was less than ideal, the game at Elland Road was an amazing experience, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
Late goals from Chris Wood and Souleymane Doukara ensured that Garry Monk’s men took the three points in the first ever clash between the two sides.

And while the Brewers stopper was inevitably disappointed to leave Yorkshire pointless, he explained why the game was so special to him regardless of the result.
“All my friends at school were massive Leeds fans and I started to come in the days of Nigel Martyn,” he said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“This was one of the fixtures I was really looking forward to. You’re going to know half the faces in the Leeds United end, not just the Burton end.
“Unfortunately for us it wasn’t the result we wanted but it’s an amazing feeling when you get to play at places you came to as a boy.”
Nigel Clough’s men can take a tremendous amount of pride from the way that they pushed a confident Leeds side right until the end.

Though the scoreline suggests otherwise, the Whites were fairly unconvincing during the contest and were only presented with the chance to double their lead once Burton had thrown practically everyone forward as the game reached its climax.
But with the three points in the bag, it will be Monk that will surely be taking a greater number of positives from the clash. Leeds demonstrated an ability to win ugly that has been missing from their game for several years, and that is arguably a quality that any side hoping to move into promotion contention needs to show at certain times.
