Pierre-Michel Lasogga enjoyed a dream debut for Leeds United.

Burton Albion defender Stephen Warnock has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he was impressed with Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s performance in Leeds’ 5-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Burton travelled to Elland Road on Saturday in search of a surprise victory, but were on the receiving end of a thumping, as Leeds continued their strong start to the season under Thomas Christiansen.
It was Lasogga who got the scoring started, exchanging passes with Eunan O’Kane before hitting a left-footed strike into the corner, before a Kalvin Phillips strike and a Pablo Hernandez penalty made it 3-0 before the break.

Kemar Roofe whipped home a fourth with a fine long-range strike, and Lasogga wrapped it all up with a deft header from Roofe’s cross, hanging in the air before planting the ball into the net.
Lasogga, 25, joined Leeds from Hamburg on deadline day last month, penning a season-long loan deal having falling out of favour under Hamburg boss Markus Gisdol – and he already looks to be a top signing.
The burly German hitman has got his Leeds career off to the perfect start with his two-goal display against Burton, leaving fans excited about his future at Elland Road after just one game.

Leeds needed a centre forward following Chris Wood’s big-money departure to Burnley, and Lasogga already looks like he will be the ideal replacement based on Saturday’s debut.
After the game, former Leeds defender and current Burton Albion veteran Stephen Warnock spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post about Lasogga’s display, claiming he was impressed with his performance – and suggests that it goes to show just how the big clubs in the Championship can bring in top talent.
“Lasogga looks a handful and very lively,” said Warnock. “But that’s the difference in the clubs. They can go out and acquire a player like that and we can’t. We know we’re in a different position to Leeds but we will enjoy the challenge,” he added.
