Burton Albion midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen has told the Burton Mail that he is expecting thank you letters after helping parent club Fulham by beating Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.
Nigel Clough’s Brewers needed points to guarantee their Championship survival, and took on a Leeds side who were looking to get back into the play-off places having dropped out with a defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Easter Monday.
Whilst many expected Leeds to bounce back with a victory, Burton hit them with a quickfire double in the final 15 minutes of the game, with Marvin Sordell and Michael Kightly both finding the net.
Kyle Bartley did pull one back for Leeds, but Burton ran out 2-1 winners, leaving Leeds three points off the play-off places with just two games left to play.

Having spent the majority of the season in the top six, Leeds are now on the outside looking into the play-off places, and their drop has come at the worst possible time given how few games are left.
One of the teams to have leapfrogged Leeds in recent weeks is Fulham, who showed off their promotion credentials with a 4-1 thrashing of Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s men have now won five of the last six and look to be in ominous form, though their final-day clash with fellow play-off chasers Sheffield Wednesday will give Leeds some hope of catching them.
Now, Burton Albion midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen – currently on loan from Fulham – has told the Burton Mail that he is expecting thank you letters from West London after helping beat Leeds on Saturday, but says it’s now up to the Cottagers themselves to seal a play-off place.
“I’m expecting a few letters coming in the mailbox saying ‘thank you’!” said Christensen. “It’s obviously nice as well, to be able to help them. It would be great to see them back in the Premier League, but they have to go and do it themselves now. We’ve done them a few favours over the season, so hopefully they can finish it off now,” he added.
