Burnley and Everton both reportedly want to sign the Marseille ace.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche has worked wonders during his time in charge at Turf Moor.
The challenge that he faces now, however, is how can he actually take them to another level.
According to the Daily Mail, Dyche has a plan to do just that by bringing Marseille winger Lucas Ocampos to Turf Moor.
Burnley have bid £10 million for the Argentine, according to the Daily Mail, but Marseille are believed to want more than that.
Everton are also said to be keen on the 24-year-old, but if the Clarets can beat the Merseyside outfit to the winger’s signature, it would be a real statement of intent from the Lancashire club, and would show real ambition.
Ocampos is a real live-wire, and he would bring some much-need quality to Burnley’s play in the final third.
The Argentine is a pacey winger, but he is also technically gifted, and he would be a real asset for the Clarets.
Convincing him into moving to Turf Moor rather than Goodison Park won’t be easy, however, but Dyche needs to pull out all the stops and make it happen.
If Burnley do manage to bring Ocampos to the club, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for them.
