Dutch newspaper Voetbal International have relayed Het Laatste Nieuws’ claim that Burnley target Bart Verbruggen could become as good as Manuel Neuer, Thibaut Courtois and Jan Oblak one day.
The ‘exceptional’ £5 million-rated Anderlecht No.1, who confirmed the Clarets’ interest always said it would be a ‘dream’ for him to play in England.
It is a testament to how highly-rated the 20-year-old is that the Championship club were reportedly keen on his signature in the summer as well.
It seems the interest from Burnley certainly makes sense as Bart Verbruggen has been compared to Manuel Neuer for once, who is regarded by many as the greatest goalkeeper of all time.

Compliments do not get any bigger for shotstoppers, as not only has the World Cup winner been astounding at saving shots but moreover, his influence on the game due to his excellent sweeping and ball-playing abilities remains unmatched.
However, Voetbal International have relayed Het Laatste Nieuws’ opinion, who have tipped Bart Verbruggen to become as good as Manuel Neuer amongst two fellow legendary goalkeepers.

“There is no one in doubt: Verbruggen will one day be a goalkeeper of the calibre of [Thibaut] Courtois, Manuel Neuer and Jan Oblak. Why shouldn’t Verbruggen immediately be the first goalkeeper of the Dutch national team?”
Burnley could be signing a generational talent
Currently, Arijanet Muric is in goal for the Premier League-bound side, who is also renowned for his impressive shotstopping capabilities as well as his ease with the ball at his feet.
But Bart Verbruggen is the epitome of the modern goalkeeper and while only time will tell whether he can become the next Manuel Neuer, Burnley would certainly be signing a sensation if he reaches even half those levels in his career.
As Vincent Kompany’s side seem destined for promotion, he could well be tempted to make the move from Belgium after all.
