Borussia Monchengladbach reportedly believe on-loan Burnley defender Jordan Beyer won’t return to Germany this summer, with the Calrets expected to sign the centre-back on a permanent basis.

According to the Rheinische Post, Vincent Kompany is keen to sign the 22-year-old German youth international for good after an impressive first year in England with Burnley, with the centre-back making 22 appearances in all competitions for the Championship leaders.

Already a fan favourite at Turf Moor, Beyer is just one of many shrewd signings Burnely made in the summer that has seen the former Premier League side transform themselves into one of the most exciting clubs in all of England, with Kompany on course to take the Lancashire side back to the top-flight in his first year in charge.

Whilst Burnley don’t have the option to purchase Beyer at the end of the season, the Rheinische Post note that the Championship side will do everything possible to sign the ‘sensational’ Gladbach talent on a permanent deal, with the Bundesliga giants not expecting their youngster to even return to Germany.

Indeed, Burnley sit top of the Championship by 12 clear points, and given how much the Turf Moor side are expected to earn through their inevitable promotion to the Premier League, signing Beyer from Gladbach could be quite an easy process for the Clarests.

As we know, the German side already aren’t excepting the defender to return to the Foals at the end of the season, and although Beyer has made 25 Bundesliga starts in his career, Gladbach’s stance on their young centre-back seems to be to sell him when his value is at his highest.

Kompany’s transfer strategy at Burnley has been nothing short of incredible, with the Belgian coach transforming one of the oldest squads in England to one of the youngest and one of the most exciting, and signing Beyer on a permanent deal for a good price could be massive ahead of their return to the Premier League.

With Burnley expected to once again spend big in the summer, landing Beyer for good, as well as other loan players such as Nathan Tella, Ian Maatsen and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, will be huge for the Clarets, who have the base for a good team for the future.
