Burnley transfer news has become a commonly searched term on Google, and there has now been an update involving the Clarets.
What’s the story?
Well, Burnley are now in advanced talks to sign Lyle Foster from Westerlo – according to Sacha Tavolieri.
The Belgian journalist believes Vincent Kompany is in a good position to sign the South Africa international, with Westerlo said to be feeling positive about the €7m (£6m) fee and open to a sale.
You can see what Tavolieri posted on Twitter below.
Foster has enjoyed an impressive campaign so far, scoring eight goals in 20 Jupiler Pro League appearances this season, while also providing three assists.
For just £6m, Burnley could be getting their hands on an excellent forward, and supporters should be encouraged by the eye-catching performances of those Kompany has already signed from his native Belgium, such as Manuel Benson.
Burnley transfer news – Foster praised in 2017
Back in 2017, Foster was actually named in the Guardian‘s Next Generation feature, which showcased the best 60 youngsters on the planet at that time.
The likes of Vinicius Junior – now at Real Madrid – and Erling Haaland were also among the 60 prospects involved in the article, which speaks volumes about how important Foster could become for Burnley.

Joe Crann wrote: “His movement and eye for goal have seen him attract interest from Germany and his height sets him apart from many South African players. His current coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, called him a “special talent” who needs to be nurtured.”
Of course, the South African has not hit the heights of Vinicius and Haaland, but at the age of just 22, it seems as if he has more gears to move into.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as talks between Burnley and Westerlo continue.
