Burnley are poised to sign Birmingham City goalkeeper Adam Legzdins, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Burnley are looking for a new goalkeeper to add to their ranks at Turf Moor after former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson announced his retirement earlier this summer.
Robinson played back-up to No.1 keeper Tom Heaton last season and Clarets boss Sean Dyche is keen to replace former Leeds and Tottenham star Robinson.
Dyche has lined up a deal for Legzdins to provide cover to Heaton and offer him the chance to move to the Premier League.
Legzdins started his career at Birmingham City, but after failing to break into the first-team picture at St Andrew’s he left in 2008 for Crewe.
The 30-year-old had spells at Burton Albion, Derby County and Leyton Orient before rejoining Birmingham in 2015.
Since his return to St Andrew’s he has gone on to make 21 first-team appearances, including 13 times last season for the Blues.
Birmingham took up the option to extend Legzdins’s contract for a further year at the end of last season, but the arrival of David Stockdale has pushed him further down the pecking order in Harry Redknapp’s plans.
Burnley have now moved for the keeper and Legzdins is currently undergoing a medical at Turf Moor and could go straight into the squad for this weekend’s Premier League opener against champions Chelsea.
