The Manchester City ace would be a superb acquisition for Burnley this summer.

Sean Dyche is well-versed in operating in the transfer market with one arm tied behind his back, due to the Clarets’ inferior transfer budget, but this summer might just be slightly different at Turf Moor.

Dyche is armed with a generous transfer kitty, following the sale of Michael Keane to Everton earlier this month, and Burnley fans will be hoping that he spends his money on acquiring some top talent in the three weeks that remains until the new Premier League campaign kicks off.

And a wonderfully ambitious target for the Lancashire outfit could be Manchester City star Fabian Delph, who is available for around £12 million, according to the Chronicle.

The 27-year-old midfield ace would be a fabulous signing for Burnley, and would bring a much needed touch of class and guile to their engine room.

The left-footed former Leeds United and Aston Villa man is wonderfully versatile, and can play pretty much anywhere across the midfield, but is perhaps most effective when deployed in the deep-lying midfield role.

Delph would be the ideal central midfield partner for Dean Marney, with their respective attributes perfectly suited to playing alongside one another.

The City star’s quality is highlighted by the nine caps that he has earned for the England national team, and with the 2018 World Cup on the horizon, he will surely be looking for a move away from the Etihad, with one eye on forcing himself into Gareth Southgate’s plans for Russia.

Turf Moor could be just the place for him to showcase his true qualities, and if Dyche does manage to bring him to the club, it would be a real statement of intent from Burnley.
