The attacker has returned to Burnley after they exercised their recall option.
Burnley have recalled attacker Bradley Jackson from his loan spell at Southport.
Jackson, who can play as a winger or a striker, was initially set to remain with the National League North side until the end of the season, but Burnley had an option to recall him in January, which they exercised, as reported by the club’s official website.
During his time at Southport Jackson made 24 appearances in total, scoring twice, and it will be intriguing to see what the next step is for the youngster, who, at the age of 21, is in need of regular playing time.
Jackson had a loan spell with Bangor City last season, while he has been on the bench for Burnley in the Championship, the FA Cup and the EFL Cup but has yet to make a first-team appearance for the club.
Burnley are in need of an extra attacking threat at present but it seems unlikely that Jackson will be thrown into first-team action given his lack of top flight experience and the fact that he didn’t especially impress at Southport indicates that he isn’t ready to step up for Sean Dyche’s side.
There is a possibility that Jackson could be loaned out again before the transfer window closes next week and if that is the case then he will look to prove to Burnley that he still has the quality to succeed at the club.
