Burnley have overtaken Watford as frontrunners to sign Everton winger Aaron Lennon with bookmakers, Sky Bet.

Lennon has only made two substitute appearances for Everton this season and faces an uncertain future at Goodison Park, with the arrival of Croatia international Nikola Vlasic expected imminently, according to BBC Sport.

The Yorkshireman’s contract is also up at the end of the campaign and it would be little surprise to see him moved on inside the next 36 hours.

Having been linked with a move for Lennon earlier in the window, Watford had been installed as bookies’ favourites for his signature. But the Hornets are now 4/1 with Sky Bet, behind Burnley who are 13/8.

Sean Dyche’s side lost wingers George Boyd and Michael Kightly at the end of their contracts this summer, but have yet to replace the pair, and a move for Lennon would certainly make sense.

The 30-year-old moved to Everton from Tottenham Hotspur in September 2015, and has made 60 appearances for his current employers, although only a quarter of those have arrived since the start of last season.

Could Everton’s Lennon sign for Burnley or Watford this week?
