Burnley fans took to Twitter following Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion to have their say on Nathaniel Chalobah’s debut performance.
An injury-hit Burnley side succumbed to a 4-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion on Sunday afternoon, with the match seeing Chelsea loanee Nathaniel Chalobah make his first appearance for the club since arriving at the transfer deadline.
Earning his top-flight debut as a half-time substitute with the Clarets 2-0 down, the midfielder could do little to influence the result, as a Saido Berahino brace, sandwiched between goals from Craig Dawson and Graham Dorrans, respectively, leaves Sean Dyche’s side rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.
| Duel Won | Duel Lost | Interception | Total Pass | Pass Acc | Touches | Poss Lost All | Ball Recovery | Mins | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nathaniel Chalobah | 1 | 5 | 2 | 34 | 91.18% | 41 | 5 | 5 | 45 |
Chalobah, 19, has still to make his first-team debut for Chelsea since coming up through the ranks, spending the 2012-13 campaign on loan at Watford, before splitting last season between spells at Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.
The centre-back-cum-defensive midfielder has impressed enough in that time to establish himself as a regular in the England under-21 side, but Blues’ star-studded squad leaves him with few opportunities to excite in North London.
Considered one of the country’s brightest prospects, Burnley fans, however, gave the promising teenager’s weekend outing mixed reviews.
