Aston Villa are reportedly keen on the services of Burnley’s man between the sticks, Tom Heaton.

Burnley supporters on Twitter would be happy to see their team cash in on Tom Heaton this summer as the goalkeeper has been touted for a move to newly-promoted Aston Villa.
The Mirror (20 June, page 57 have claimed that Villa are on red alert after Heaton rejected a new deal at Turf Moor, with his current contract due to expire next summer.
Following their promotion to the Premier League in May, it has been no surprise that Villa and Dean Smith want to add a new shot-stopper to their squad, with Jed Steer currently holding the number one gloves.
A player like Heaton would be a brilliant signing for the Midlands outfit because he would add experience and quality to Smith’s starting XI.
But given Heaton’s current contract situation at Burnley, his own supporters are more than happy to see him leave if the Clarets can get a significant sum for his services.

At this moment in time, Sean Dyche has a plethora of English goalkeepers to choose from. Nick Pope, Joe Hart and Heaton himself have all represented England during these last 24 months, at some moment in time.
Pope’s injury last season meant that his rise stagnated at Turf Moor, whilst Hart’s career is continuing to go the wrong way since his departure from Manchester City.
Heaton did come back into the starting XI during the second half of the recent campaign and he played his part in Dyche’s side finishing off the season in a strong fashion.
